Yuletide: Aminu Gwadabe Greet ABCON Members, Nigerians

“allow ourselves to be infected by the spirit of joy this beautiful season.” – ABCON President

Olushola Okunlade Writes

The National President of the Association of Bureaux De Change Operators of Nigeria (ABCON), Alhaji Aminu Gwadabe, has urged members to use the yuletide season to extend kindness to members of the society, to reflect on and embrace tolerance, which is one of the attributes of Jesus Christ.

He said yuletide season is a reminder that we are our brother’s keepers, urging Christians and Muslims to “allow ourselves to be infected by the spirit of joy this beautiful season.”

Gwadabe, in a goodwill message sent to BUSINESS ECHO MAGAZINE, identified the love of God towards mankind as care, selflessness, and compassion for people, especially the weak, the vulnerable, and the underprivileged despite we have experienced most tough year.

He said, “This is a season that explains the depth of God’s love for mankind and exemplary sacrifice that we should emulate in our relationship with our neighbors, irrespective of status and creed.

“This season is another opportunity to increase our acts of kindness and touch the less privileged in our society.

“Therefore, this yuletide means so much more than just mere merriment. It is a veritable avenue to extend love to the underprivileged who are disadvantaged in several ways.

“In this special season, therefore, I urge ABCON Members to spread love and be our brother’s keeper. Let us reach out to those who struggle to provide for their families. Let us put smiles on the faces of the weak and the vulnerable. This is the real essence of Yuletide season.”

He said his leadership is committed to religious tolerance, just as he urged all members to continue to pray for peace of the country.

Gwadabe, in a goodwill message on Saturday, noted that “Jesus Christ was an embodiment of peace, love, tolerance and sacrfice in his entire lifetime.” He said all ABCON Members, Nigerians needed to emulate these qualities in the quest to build a great nation.

“As we move towards the year 2022, we must remain united and refrain from actions and utterances that can lead to violence and chaos,” he said.

“The Yuletide season commemorates every good, precious, and pure ideal that we share. I encourage each and every one of us to allow ourselves to be infected by the spirit of joy this beautiful season as you mark the birth of Christ.

“It is important that we all remember that behind yuletide is the idea that we are to be our brother’s keeper and our sister’s keeper; that we should treat others as we would want to be treated and to share the love with all and sundry.”
